چکیده

The catalytic co-conversion of glycerol and oleic acid (45/55 wt%) to bio-based aromatics (benzene, toluene, xylenes, bio-BTX) over a technical H-ZSM-5/Al2O3 catalyst in fixed-bed reactor was investigated with special attention deactivation phenomena. spent catalysts after time on stream (TOS) 12 h were regenerated by an ex-situ oxidative treatment remove coke reused for another run. In total, 5 reaction-regeneration cycles performed. performance characteristics the fresh determined identify quantify effects co-feeding stability regenerability. changes upon number cycles. Despite negative effect peak BTX yield, remarkable improvement found, leading higher productivity (1260–1505 gBTX gcat-1 during TOS vs. 834 one life-time 11 h). Detailed characterization studies show irreversible structure cycle(s), such as textural property, crystal structure, framework, acidity, which impact performance.

Conversion of Methanol to Hydrocarbons over Ni-zsm-5 Catalyst

As stock of crude oil is limited, new resources for fuel and petrochemicals are required to be developed. Natural gas or biogas can be easily converted into methanol which can be converted into gasoline and olefins. This study uses zeolite catalyst (ZSM-5) and its modification by Ni to convert methanol to hydrocarbons (MTH). Catalysts are studied at different temperatures and at different loadi...

Catalyst deactivation

The fundamentals of catalyst deactivation are presented in this review. The chemico-physical aspects concerning the various deactivation causes (i.e. poisoning, sintering, coking, solid-state transformation, masking, etc.) have been analyzed and discussed, along with the mathematical description of the deactivation phenomena. # 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. Facile Synthesis of a Novel Hierarchical ZSM‐5 Zeolite: A Stable Acid Catalyst for Dehydrating Glycerol to Acrolein

Catalytic biomass conversion is often hindered by coking. Carbon compounds cover active surface and plug pores, causing catalyst deactivation. Material design at the nanoscale allows tailoring of the catalytic activity and stability. Here, we report a simple synthesis of nanosized ZSM-5 materials by using a silicalite-1 seeding suspension. ZSM-5 crystals were grown from a deionized silica sourc...

Ultraefficient homogeneous catalyst for the CO2-to-CO electrochemical conversion.

A very efficient electrogenerated Fe(0) porphyrin catalyst was obtained by substituting in tetraphenylporphyrin two of the opposite phenyl rings by ortho-, ortho'-phenol groups while the other two are perfluorinated. It proves to be an excellent catalyst of the CO2-to-CO conversion as to selectivity (the CO faradaic yield is nearly quantitative), overpotential, and turnover frequency. Benchmark...

Boric Acid: As a Green Catalyst for the Conversion of Aldehydes and Ketones to Gem-Dihydroperoxides Using Aqueous 30% H2O2

Gem-dihydroperoxides as nearly stable peroxidic derivatives of aldehydes and ketones are known important intermediates in synthesis of anti-malaria drugs. Also, because containing high concentration of peroxidic oxygen, recently, some of these compounds have been used as solid, efficient and powerful oxidants in many oxidation organic reactions. Generally, these compounds are synthesiz...
